One of the things I love about the photography community in the Pacific Northwest is their commitment to giving back to the community and supporting each other in our small businesses. So, naturally, when fellow photographer Becca of B.Jones Photography reached out to one of our networking groups to see if anyone would be interested in doing a session when her first baby, Jack, arrived - I jumped at the opportunity to be a part of it. I'm so, so glad she asked me to be!
The plan was to photograph him just after birth: catching the weighing and the measuring and the footprints - but God had another plan. Becca was a rockstar during the birth, laboring for over 24 hours before finally meeting her little guy. He was immediately taken to the NICU to be monitored for infection, so in lieu of immediate photos we decided on a "Fresh 48" session for later that evening. When I re-arrived just 11 hours after his birth, baby Jack was already surrounded by love. His parents and grandparents and an aunt and uncle were all there. I was able to capture some of the sweetness of their first day with Jack.
Sweet and alert, here is Jack's debut: Happy Birthday, Jack!
"Fresh 48" sessions function as a lifestyle newborn session sometime in the first 48 hours after birth. They are a sweet & intimate session with the whole family and a great way to welcome your new bundle of joy into the world. If you want to book a "Fresh 48" session, contact me here -- I'd love to talk to you about your baby's Birth-Day plans!
